if i were to buy it back what kind of work would i be looking at the get it back to normal? i know it prolly wouldnt be worth it but the car has some centimental value so i just thought id ask.
Hard to tell just from those pictures but a new radiator support and radiator and condenser up front. A bumper reinforcement and energy absorber. Depending on how the frame rails look. If they aren't buckled, and just bent, a few hours on a frame rack should take care of it. A junkyard door and some outter wheelhouse repair and a new quarter panel and you should be good to go. Plus ofcouse the air bags and sensors.
If you were local I would consider picking that up from you!

You'll get over being sentimental once you get something else that you like better.
But if it's cheap to buy it back, I'd find something cheap like a '94 V6 with engine problems, do the swap, and have a sleeper. You'd have everything you need except the radiator.
so i finally talked to my claims adjuster and they totaled the car and gave me $7600 minus the $500 deductable and im going to buy it back for $1200. problem is its 20 miles away because the insurance company stored it there til now. is there any way i could use a dolly from u-haul with an f-150? or do i need to have it brought on flatbed all the way here?
Probably have a problem getting it on the dolly, unless the car can still move forward? Know anyone with a trailer w/ wench? Otherwise, flatbed haul prolly cost you $150 or so.
Like the guy said on page 1, too bad you weren't driving a STI, that way you wouldn't have ruined a perfectly good American car.
Look at the bright side, if you do hang on to the car, you now have the absolute best excuse in the world for modding the living daylights out of it.
i was driving down a dirt road saturday night and i tried to avoid a deer and lost it. while it was sitting there over night some kids ripped off my gt emblems and almost got away with my sub. but the power company pulled up around the same time and they ran. i took off the new iac i just put on..well..time for a 5 speed
how fast were you going, that is some nice damage for traveling on a dirt road. If i were on a dirt road i would be going about 3 mph...was your car in good condition before the fact?

the car was in good condition on the outside, i waxed it monthly and had new clear fog light and headlights with new paint on the bumper with just minor scratches that happen over the cars life and about the road, its a dirt road that is black on the ruts and is very smooth so i was doing about 40 and happened to look down at the radio for a second, looked up and saw a deer but it looked like there was enough room to go around him. when i did that it was a really rough patch and i lost it and hit a pole that was rotted (if it hadnt been i might not be here) and slid into like a large bush (thats the damage on the passenger side)
From the looks of the photos, it may be time you considered a 6 cylinder instead. Glad you didn't get hurt.
