A freind gave me a DOHC 4.6 out of a 2000 Lincoln engine. Can I make this work in my 97 GT?
Looks like I'll have to change the intake, so I can mount the alt.

I did some research a few months back and it looks like a straight foward swap for the 98 & down 4.6 DOHC's, but Im not sure about a 2000-up engines..

Any info will help, Thanks

Just picked it up today, heres the pics...

That is a 3.9 lincoln LS V8 .. no way to make that thing work, and you would not want to anyways. try to sell it to get a 4.6 dohc RWD out of a mark 8 remmeber the FWD lincoln conti motors will not work

3.9s have some get up and go, but i think you would have to run the 5r55w that comes bolted to them stock. anything is possible with enough money and will power.

If it's a 2000 engine then it's from a FWD Continental.

That engine cannot be used in a RWD application at all. The bellhousing bolts are different due to the FWD

Only the 93-98 Mark 8 4.6L DOHC's can be used

EDIT: just looked at the pics...it's a 3.9L LS V8
