Does the 2001 have the PI intake or no? If it does i thought it had the aluminum crossover in the front? My fiance's 01 broke at where the heater core line goes to the intake (the plastic side on the intake) Well im trying to order a new intake and dont know which one to order?? Hers is ALL plastic without the metal crossover????? So i guess my question is what the hell is on her car and will a PI intake work?

2001 is a PI and the improved intake wth the aluminum crossover came out later that year.
now a tip:
get the Ford replacement intake, not some parts store crap and if you need help getting one, we sell the inproved Ford intake, alt brkt and 2 intake gaskets for $299.00

she has a half year car then that still had the crappy all plastic intake. I would give Randy a call. He's a parts god that works at a dealership in MD- he will get you what you need for a good price....and quick!!

You need the PI intake with aluminum crossover, new alt bracket (different design with aluminum crossover), gaskets, etc. The dealership usually wants around 1200 for all the parts and labor..

yes, its a very easy swap, get evevrything randy said. even if your an idiot (I'm not implying that) its very easy and you shouldn't have any trouble doing it yourself. shouldn't take more than a couple hrs if even. a haynes manual will help if you get stuck.
