Electrical 2002-PATS Replacement

I have an 02 GT vert, and I’m swapping over everything from my totaled Saleen (well, the original Saleen was an 01 that was totaled, and swapped to this 99 before i bought it). The problem is the gauge cluster messing with the PATS. I’ve swapped clusters, PCM’s, ignition lock cylinders, the little sensor under the cylinder, and the car still thinks it’s being stolen. I know there’s plenty of threads on various forums regarding swapping clusters like this, but I’ve tried about every bypass out there that I can find (including trying to disable it with my SCT) with no luck. I’d like to just have everything swapped from the other car, where it all worked fine, but I have to be missing something, since it still isn’t cooperating. Any ideas?

I have one key for the original cluster/pcm, and one for the Saleen stuff. I know the Saleen key is programmed for it because I drove the last car on a daily basis before it was totaled. I have scanned for codes, and it does show the ‘theft detected - vehicle immobilized’ code, as expected. My SCT doesn’t seem to be able to disable the system, from what I've read I’d have to have a mustang shop do it with some other firmware. I suppose I should’ve been clearer on that. As for reporogramming it the ‘right’ way, I just don’t want to spend that much money if it’s unecessary. I’ve read of so many people just swapping clusters and PCM’s without issue, I feel like this would almost have to be something different. Though I guess I don’t know enough about it to say for sure, hence my post.

I have looked at the link you sent, and they say you need two PATS keys. Unfortunately, I only have one for each cluster. The one for the Saleen cluster isn’t even a ford key, it’s a replacement. I’ve heard rumors of ways to program a new key with only one key, but I don’t know how true that is.

I understand that you need 2 keys to reprogram, which I imagine needs I’ll need to get a direct replacement from ford?

I’ve heard of locksmiths being able to reprogram the whole pats system to a key, too, though I’m not entirely sure what they do with it, nor if my local ones can do it. I’ve also heard of locksmiths being able to make a key that’ll work for any ford within a given year range, like a master key; family friend had a locksmith give him one and sure enough, it really did work. Ever heard of such a thing?
