I have a line on a complete '03 Explorer engine for a good price which I am planning to buy (depending on the outcome of this thread).
The person selling it says the Explorer engine is the same as a Romeo 260hp PI Mustang engine and that the only difference is that the block is aluminum (nice!). The asking price is $1,600 and the engine has only 500 miles.
What (if anything) is needed to drop this engine directly into my '01 GT? I have my stock engine so whatever I (may) need transferred over is at my disposal.
I am planning to re-use most of my current mechanical upgrades on this replacement engine. These include Bullitt intake, Fidanza f/w, Steeda pulleys, BBK LTs, and a set of cams. Depending on my budget, I will also be putting better rods and pistons in it from the get-go.
Thanks in advance for any help.
