Hi everybody I'm new here as a member but have referred to this forum many times in the past. I cant seem to locate the engine coolant temperature sensor on my 3.8 liter v6? I have read other posts on this site and I seem to find conflicting info? One thread says that both the guage sensor and the ECT sensor are one in the same. And other posts say that there is a sensor for the guage and one for signalling the radiator fan motor to kick on. My guage is working fine. OBD II diagnostics comes up with an ECT sensor malfunction and now my electric radiator fan doesnt kick on any more. If i sit in park or idle for any period of time the car will overheat. I dont think its the fan because i replaced it less than 6 months ago. And also my A/C is putting nothing out but hot air now and i checked and it is charged with freon. If anybody can show me a picture or give a good description on where that ECT sensor is located i would really appreciate it?
