Im a little confused... I have an 04 sonic blue some mild mods for a daily driver... If I understand things correctly from the factory this car is at about 250hp to the crank.... the car has some tuning done underdrive pullies 4.10 gears high flo H pipe....

Anyway I had it dyno'd just about a week ago and im seeing 250BWHP and 270 torq.... the numbers dont seem to add up to me... Seems with the small amount of work done I shouldnt be seeing that to the wheels yet??? Should I?

Any ideas?

Also the air/fuel is a ittle on the lean side... leans out to about 13.5 at 6200 rpms... I really want to hit it with about 100 shot of nitrous... But... the Leanness of the air/fuel kind of scares me a little.... I dont have the SCT tuner that the car was programmed with.... I prefer not to purchase a handheld.. What is the best software to (I do have a USB to OBDII) to read the file with?

Thanks

William

The factory rating of the '99-'04 Mustang GT was 260hp/302 torque SAE

I’ll assume BWHP is RWHP (Rear Wheel Horsepower?) If so, they usually dyno at about 220-230hp at the rear wheels. Pulleys and mid pipe and a tune will pick it up some. There could be several reasons for the results. The car has more modifications than you're aware of? The calibration of the dyno? Different types of Dyno's, will read differently (Ex Dynojet vs Mustang Dyno).

A chassis dyno should be used more as a tuning device....not necessarily as gospel for measuring horsepower.

yeah sorry Rear wheel HP... so im not so confused then.. LOL.. I dont know honestly everything that has been done... This was dyno'd at pro dyno (www.pro-dynodotcom) on their mobile dyno.. I just had no reference for the car... It was tuned on a dyno when the mods were done...

Thanks for The info... I just hadnt seen numbers for a factory car dyno... I have some ideas for future mods... and wanted the dyno as a base... and also to check the Air/Fuel...

For u/d pullies, a tune, and I'm assuming a midpipe plus catback 250rwhp is a great result in these cars.

My car stock will not rev beyond the 6k limiter..unless you upped the limiter or it is upped in the tune, revving to about 5800ish would be the smart thing to do..the programmer and factor in where the wideband was placed in relation to the engine. It is most accurate right by the motor. Closer to the tailpipes it will read leaner..

Thanks for the information... It was Pro-Dyno that did the last Dyno on the car.. Im not sure where it was placed.. but they do this all the time, but because it was a portable dyno could very well have been at the tailpipe... And the rev limiter was upped in the tune the Dyno run hit about 6200, I have hit a little higher...
