I'm looking to upgrade the wheels on my '68 fastback, and I'm leaning toward the current generation Bullitt style wheels. I know tons of people are running the old style (2001-2004), but haven't heard much about people running the later models.

I know I will need a thicker spacer than with the older wheels, but my big concern is the tire diameter. 2001 - ish Bullitts ran 245/45 R17's, approx 25.7" diam. The 2005 + ones run 235/55 R17's, approx. 27.1" diam. Should I expect any interference due to the larger diameter?

I know I can change the tires to whatever I want, but you can get the new take off tire and wheel combos at a good price.

Also need to check Dodgestangs chart, but I wanted to ask here in case someone had first hand experience.

Thanks,

Andrew

"Yes," on the interference question. The tire height of the 2005+ is simply too tall to work in vintage stangs unless you are going for the 4x4 look. Buy the takeoffs, swap tires to the appropriate ~25.4" or so tires like 235/45-17 (and sell the tall tires if you can) and add your 1.5" spacers. That's basically the only way these wheels work. Too bad the 2001-2004 Bullitts aren't available as takeoffs anymore... I love mine!:nice:
