Hi Folks

I have a very simple question. Can anyone tell me what the differences are (if any) between the 2006 and 2007 model Mustang GT's. I know that there are different colours and options (GT Pack, Comfort Pack) etc.

However, I am more interested in knowing whether the BODYWORK has changed at all. I can't seem to find a definate answer anywhere.

Any other differences I should know about so I don't go when I get it

I'm importing one to Switzerland and I need to know whether I should get a 2006 model or wait a bit longer till the 2007's become more widely available.

Thanks in advance
and Cheers from Switzerland,

Paul, a soon to be Mustang Owner.

PS, yeah I posted this in the GT500 forum as well. Sorry bout that

Other than option packages, I don't see any major differences between the '06 and '07. One nice feature on the '07 is the auxilliary plug in the console for plugging in an iPod or other mp3 player.

the 07s have more welds on the unibody, making them stiffer and about 40 lbs heavier. the bodywork did not change, unless you get one of the appearance packages, GT/CS, GT500, etc.

Do we get a 5 year/60 month warranty? Also you can get sirius radio, and you have to pay for 3.55 gears in the manual. Is the TPMS new for 07? Other than that, nothing else I can think of.

Did '06 have the GT appearance package that included the plenum cover?

check with the dealer. i have seen advertisements for the 2007s that did and did not have the longer warranty. some commercials have said ONLY the remaining 06s.

the be 100% sure, have the dealer look it up for you.

The extended warranty is only after a certain date, and I don't know what that date is. It's part of the incentives to help clear out the 06's.

This is on Ford's webpage underneath the mustang, I would say if they don't have it then it's kind of shady advertisement. I mean it does say "all new Ford vehicles" I will check with a dealer tomorrow if I remember.

A warranty that works as hard as you do

We're going the extra mile to deliver even more satisfaction to you. That's why all new Ford vehicles now come with a longer 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty.*

Locate Your Ford Dealer
Search Inventory
Build and Price Your Ford

This warranty provides coverage for the engine, transmission and more. It includes no deductibles for repairs, and the warranty is fully transferable to future owners at no cost. You will also receive complimentary roadside assistance for the entire warranty period, including towing, fuel-fill and lock-out services.

The 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty is part of our commitment to deliver more standard safety equipment, more advanced technology, more value, more enjoyment, and most of all, more satisfaction from all our vehicles.

We want everything about your Ford to work as hard as you do.

*See your Dealer for limited-warranty details. Includes 2006 and 2007 model year Ford products regardless of the launch date. 2007 model year Focus coverage will be greater. 2007 model year E-Series and F-Series (up to F-550) diesel engine warranty coverage is 5 years/100,000 miles. Unique hybrid components have 8-year/100,000-mile limited-warranty coverage. A 2006 Model Year Ford vehicle sold on or after July 14, 2006 will be covered by a complimentary 5year/60,000 Mile Ford ESP PowertrainCARE extended service contract with a $100 deductible. For 2007 Model Year Ford products the warranty is fully transferable with no deductible.

I got the 5 year/60,000 mile power train warranty on my 2007 GT.

The dealer provides you with a supplemental warranty form that contains the warranty information, and a signature block to verify you have received the info. Both the buyer and the dealer get a copy of the signed form.

Well my dealer sucked when it came to knowing what the hell was going on, I guess I need to go back. Do you think another dealer that is closer could do this, or does it have to be the one that I went through to purchase the vehicle.
