2007/2008 NHL thread

so how many of you watched this game start to finish?

the fact that Kesler chased Boulerice around the rink knocking him down all night and taking runs at Briere and Gagne. While he should be suspended is the hit as bad as the one laid out by Downie?? did anyone see blood, or sign of concussion? As bad as the hit was Kesler made it look worse than it was. he'll likely get 20 games.

No, I didn't see any of the game and I'll hold off my most judgemental thoughts. But I did see a vid awhile back of a cross check knocking a corner cinder block out of a wall. I did see a sign of concussion, basically lying on the ice for a minute or more. The fact that boulerice is standing over him waiting to drop the gloves if he does try to get back up shows intent to injure.

So, show me some vids of the runs K took at Briere and Gagne where he doesn't pull up short or hit the glass. Intimidation is one thing, thuggery is another.

That said, if the NHL is serious about stopping the fights, then they NEED to crack down on these players.

I've had a chance to think about all of this and watch the replay. 2 things come to mind.

1. there is NO excuse for that kind of hit, you want a piece of someone you ask them to drop the gloves and dance
2. if you try to eliminate all the fighting from the game your going to have more stickwork like this, face it guys get mad, frustrated and fighting was a release.

IMHO Boulerice should never play for the Flyers again, this team is trying to escape the Broad Street Bullie stigma and this doesn't help. From what I have seen this is a good, fast hockey team who can score and doesn't need but 1 SMART enforcer, and he ain't it.

i never seen the game but i know kesler isn't a dirty player, chasing guys around the rink and such is part of the game and perfectly legal, i doubt anything kesler did was nothing more than annoying their top players. you see it all the time, but this was stepping over the line. you wanna fight, then drop the gloves and fight.

Thank you for the reply. I agree, fighting is a part of the game. What most don't realize is that it is a lot harder to land a good hard punch in a donnybrook than it is to cheapshot someone at full speed on the open ice. Seriously, try taking a hard right hook swing on skates vs in sneakers on asphalt.

either way, he will be like downie and be a marked man no matter what team he is playing against. i also wouldn't be surprised if the flyers dropped him, they are getting a bad rep lately lol

Go WINGS! Go PENGUINS! And since they're my hometown team, go BRUINS!

I loved those, especially the Zdeno Chara one. I've been wanting to show it to my girlfriend but can't find a video anywhere. Got a clue where I could find one?

lo i don't think i ever seen that one. i like the thornton one with the toast for some reason, probably cause whenever i make toast the same thing happens lol

It was awesome. He was at a diner drinking coffee, and spilled a little on his shirt. So he got a napkin and cleaned it up all nice n' neat, then he gets up to leave and a waitress walks right into him and spills a tray full of food & drink all over him. :rlaugh:

I was at the game tonight, my throat is sore LMAO

Briiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeere!!!! Booooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! every time he touched the puck. You could tell he was unfomfortable and for good reason. What a bastage tool. Got everything he deserved, great game :nice:

I should add, it was NOTHING compared to Theodore's return to Montreal in a Avalanche jersey. Ohhh man!!! I'd pay 100$ to experience that game again!
