Hey all,

New to the forum and have some questions on a possible new purchase that we may make. Were currently looking at a used Black 2009 V6 Mustang (auto)with 26K miles on it for $17,500. Its in great condition and is still under warranty but we've never owned a Mustang before. Are there any problematic areas that we should be aware of before making this decision? (i.e suspension, tranny, engine, brakes, etc.) We have scheduled a test drive for today so we will find out how it feels behind the wheel. The last thing i really want is to purchase a vehicle that will need a lot of repairs in the next few years. Bottom line, im rellay hoping its as relaible as our 2001 Honda Accord. Any opinions, comments, or advice is appricated. Thanks.

quality

I have owned two S197 mustangs. An 08 GT and an 07 Roush. Both cars have proven to be very reliable. I have never heard of any problems with the V6 Mustangs in particular. There is a V6 forum go there and see what they have to say. The only warranty repairs I had done were directly related to my use or misuse of the car....But don't tell my dealer that!

You can search for V6 complaints...

That being said, you should be able to pick up an 05 or 06 GT for about the same price you are looking to pay for that v6...

Good Luck

Well performance isn't really what I need from the car, as it will be my finace's daily driver. That being said, would u still choose an 05-06GT over an '09 V6? I doubt she will misuse the car the way I would If I were behind the wheel.

EDIT: Thanks for the link BTW!

V6 or 8

Given the choice I would buy a V8...But there are a ton of V6 fans who will disagree. You really need to talk to them about their reasons for going the V6 route...I look at a V8 GT as a better value. It has more power, a better exhaust, larger wheels, better brakes, maintains its value better, Gt's tend to have more options but not always...I think the 07 or 08 and up has a 6/60000 warranty...The link I sent u was just a 2 minute search, look around there are deals to be had.

Now if you were talking the new 305hp V6 thats a whole different story...I would get one of those. Many of them have the upgrades of a GT and they are nearly as fast as the 05-09 GT's...Fuel economy is very good too.

Its a tough call...look around a bit and ask the guys in the V6 forum. They are passionate about their cars. Im sure some will show up with some corrections to what Im telling you

The link I sent you is a black California special, great looking car and all optioned out...Google one.
