I remeber reading somewhere that there was things different on the 2011 (besides motor options and drivetrains) that only the experts of experts would even notice. Does anybody know of any ways to spot a 2011 with noticing the "5.O" badges???

Thanks for any help with this.

Oh and I'll start:

2011's have blind spot mirrors on the side view mirrors, 2010's don't

-Different Style wheels & also might have Brembos if it has that option

-If you can get a look in the interior red line on the gauges is now at 7rpm's.

-On the back seats the rear head rests also now fold down.

-The rear valance is now also different for the 2011 Gt's then it was for the 2010's

-The new California Package is now avaliable for the 2011 GT's once again it wasnt for 2010.
(different grill, front valance with lower fog lights, side louvers & scoops, different rear wing & valance)

From a Ford media release:

Improved driving dynamics
EPAS has made a dramatic contribution to Mustang GT driving dynamics, delivering quicker on-center steering response, increased effort at highway speeds and reduced effort required in low-speed parking maneuvers. EPAS allows specific tuning for the Mustang GT application.

The 2011 Mustang GT features an enhanced rear lower control arm to add stiffness, improve powertrain NVH control and sharpen handling. A stiffened rear stabilizer bar for better on-center steering is also included. Stabilizer bar diameters, spring rates and dampers all have been tuned for improved dynamics.

A Brembo brake package upgrade will be available for serious enthusiasts. This package includes 14-inch vented front discs from the GT500 Mustang, unique 19-inch alloy wheels and summer performance tires.

Added convenience content
For 2011, Mustang GT offers drivers several new convenience technologies, including:

Standard message center
Integrated blind spot mirrors
MyKey™ programmable vehicle key

New look
From the 5.0 fender badges to the new engine cover, Mustang GT honors and continues the proud heritage of its predecessors. The speedometer increases to 160 mph and the tachometer redline advances from 6,500 to 7,000 rpm.

Three vibrant new colors will be added for 2011 including Yellow Blaze Tri-Coat, Race Red and Ingot Silver.

Improved NVH control and convertible rigidity
For 2011, Mustang GT benefits from across-the-board NVH improvements. These include additional sound-deadening material on either side of the instrument panel, additional sound absorbtion behind interior trim panels and a real wheel arch liner to reduce noise on gravel or wet surfaces.

Mustang GT convertible models feature enhanced structural rigidity, with lateral stiffness improved by 12 percent versus the 2010 model. A tower-to-tower front strut brace is now standard, and the V-brace has been stiffened by adding gussets. The secondary crossmember also has been stiffened while a front Z-brace has been added, connecting primary and secondary crossmembers. A-pillar stiffening foam also has been added to increase rigidity.

Other than the power, the differences in the GT are not obvious from a driver standpoint. A 2010 GT with the TrackPack option handles better than the 2011 in my opinion. Of course, as I stated, the power is very noticeable.

And what are you basing this opinion on? Do you own one of each?

I believe the V6s have chrome, and the GTs have "black chrome".

I was gonna order mine in RACE RED but after seeing it next to a 2010 TORCH RED I'm now looking at the other color choices.

The RR almost looks like they added orange or some sort of deeper red as opposed to TR's very bright and stunning red (CornHusker Red)...

Anyone know what Yellow Blaze Tri-Coat looks like or have a link to something close?

I own a 2010 GT with the TrackPack option. I've driven a 2011 auto and a 2010 GT500 and can compare the three. Yes, the 2011 is fast, but it does not handle as well as my 2010. However, both handle better than the GT500, in my opinion. Maybe the lighter 2011 GT500 will be a different story.

Well that may be so but one review site had this to say about the Track Pack from 2010: "...the Brembos will take a genuinely hard lap or two before requiring some rest, and they never cook the brake fluid the way last year’s “Track Pack” pad option did"

Here's the link:
