Yeah i've searched up and down about what transmissions they use and haven't found anything myself either. Thank you though.

These numbers are much higher than I expected to see. Are drivetrains getting a lot more efficient at laying power to the ground? Typical drivetrain loss has been 20-25% on a Mustang dyno. Correction values crazy? Just curious. Having had a number of cars in the 400hp range, this doesnt feel any stronger than the rated HP (my '06 GTO put 318 to the ground stock and the '15 Mustang certainly doesnt feel like it's making 60 more HP).

We use an Eddy current Dynocom Dyno. This is a loaded chassis Dyno very similar to a Mustang Dyno. All of our testing uses standard SAE correction with no additional multiplier. This particular Dyno is conservative according to most people and was verified to be accurate when we published an article in race pages last year on some Vortech testing. We were accurate to +/-2% when comparing fuel consumption tables to recorded hp output with my other car at power levels exceeding 1500+rwhp

Keep in mind that the 15' Mustang has some weight on the GTO and this may account for some of the seat of the pants feeling you described? Fwiw, the 20%+ loss is usually seen in older cars especially with loose torque converters. Most newer cars seem to report a loss around 14%-18% as far as I've seen.

I never dynod the '12 Mustang because I never did anything to it power wise but the GTO was a manual and we did quite a bit so it was strapped down. It lost 20.5% if you believe the stock rated HP (which is pretty well established). I remember reading 11-14 Mustang results and seeing they were quite high as well. Seems crazy to me that people are getting 400hp to the wheels with a tune and exhaust or CAI. Definitely feel the weight difference between the 12 and 15. Need moar power! Thanks for the info.

anytime! A little boost goes a long way with these cars I can attest to the joy of driving mine with boost, I honestly can't recall driving it stock as the blower was installed at 200 miles

Are the 15s forged rods as burly as the stock crank?

Oil pump gerator and crank sprocket for the timing chains seem to be the weak link. They don't hold up much over 700rwhp for long

Got it on the dyno for the first time today. SCT pre loaded 93 octane tune and Borla SType catback.

The run that falls on it's face was after flashing the stock tune (I've been driving with the SCT preload for about a week now). Not sure what happened during that run but it looks like it was going to end up very similar to the SCT preload (makes me wonder if the SCT does much of anything at all). The short incomplete runs were after we installed the JLT CAI and Lund tune; something was off right away so we didnt bother completing the runs. Turns out, when I request the tune I failed to mention the JLT (whoops). They sent me an updated tune that runs much better and we should be heading back to the dyno Monday afternoon for some after results. It definitely has a bit more pep in its step according the butt dyno (and tire spin).

Was pretty impressed with the torque curve showing 300lb"+ from 2500-6800 RPM. Crazy for a small V8.

Great results!
Curious to know a bit more about that dyno, loaded like a Mustang dyno or more like a dyno jet?
Post up the results after the Lund tune as well

They operate similar to a Mustang Dyno with a resistance load. I have no idea what was used during my run; I'll ask what it was/is when I go back tomorrow for after tune results.

With JLT CAI and Lund tune. Calculated the DA delta and there is a loss of about 2.03% for yesterdays run (if my math is correct). The corrected HP is 415.99 but again, that is completely based on my math vice my results.

So just for my own clarity, Madweazl, you put on a JLT CAI, Borla catback, and Lund canned tune and it hit over 400 rwhp? If that's the case, I gotta get some stuff changed out. That's the easy mods and it lands you around 30 extra rwhp. Let this be true cuz I'm going to get after it, screw the warranty.

Also, where did you buy your tuner and tune from?

That's all it has. I'd honestly skip the JLT and just use the stock unit with a Lund tune and see what it did first. If you didnt get close, you could try a CAI. I'm not convinced they do much on a basically stock engine but dont have any data to back that up. I purchased the CAI, SCT X4, and Lund tune from Beefcake. Been happy with the customer service from both (Lund and Beefcake) and plan on using them in the future.

Nice. Thanks for getting back so quick. I'm working on getting a catback next. Then I'll look into the tuner.

I dont think the catback does much. My first run on the dyno was with catback and SCT preloaded tune and hit 400hp though. Cant say what it was bone stock but I think the SCT preloaded tune provides pretty good bang for the buck.

It probably won't but my car needs some sound. Compared to my old car, the new one sounds like a prius. Needs a better singing voice.

Just got mine dyno'd tonight on a DynoJet at around 85~ temp wise here in ATL. This is a completely stock GTPP car.

Ran in 4th gear during all 3 runs. I asked about running in 5th but he said 4th is what they do. My electronics went crazy right after the first run so I'm not sure if I fully disabled it everything or not. I have 820~ miles on it running 93 octane. I was hoping for better results :/ based on what I've seen around the web.

Well, given the temperature you stated, and likely your engine/intake was already hot from driving there, you're right around the numbers they other guys are getting stock.
