ok so i found a good deal on some 24 # injectors. my righ tnow i have a B cam w/ longtubes and boltons. the CAI, MAF, and cobra upper/lower manifolds will be going on soon (christmas??). eventually i'd like to do afr 165's. will the 24's be necessary? and w/o the heads on, will the 24's be overkill? will i lose a ton of gas mileage (still in school, and this is my daily driver). will a larger in-tank fuel pump /fuel pressure regulator be necessary?

I ran a similar combo with #19s. Ran fine. Plus you will need a reclibrated/new maf with them (24#s).

get the injectors and just wait to get heads first before you use the injectors. Not needed with your current combo.

are the 24's necessary with the heads though? the heads unfortunately will have to come later, due to lack of funding lol. could i get the fuel pressure tuned down on the 24's while i wait for the heads?

If its a good enough deal, I'd definitely buy the 24s. Doesn't look like you really need them now, but you'll be glad u did when you start making future mods.

you guys are saying overkill if he puts the 24's on a mild combo, but will the 24's actaully hurt perfomance on a mild combo? wont the injectors only give the amount of fuel that the engine is asking for, or will more fuel be delivered per pulse just cuz? if he has a MAF that is calibrated for 24's the computer should know how to ajust the pulses to accommodate for them right?
am i misinformed? i bet i am.

just get them. if you want to put them on go for. if the maf is calibrated to 24# injectors it wont effect gas milage when crusing but when you get into the high rpms you may run rich

I know the 93 cobra conversion kit comes with 24's,EEC,and the MAF. so the 93 was running 24's with only a diff intake. but the cobra computer is not the same so i dont know. i think the 93 cobra EEC sucks for further moding? some one has to know this..

just for a reference, when I was running my afr 165's/b-31 cam/ systemax II intake with 24lb injectors, the injectors were running at 98% duty cycle at 5800 rpms (shoud be below 90%). I should have used 30 lbers.

Several times I've read the injectors running under stock spec or higher fuel pressure will not give the correct delivery. I would take the 24's now and put them in a drawer..they will provide you no benefit now, but come later with a head upgrade you'll be able to meet the needs of the combo..as is now your setup at stock pressure setting will be more than adequate to supply the fuel.
