im currently running 255 60 15 Mickeys on my draglites with 5.5 bs. Will a 275 50 15 fit w/o rubbing the tails? i like the lower and wider stance of the 50 series tire, but im afraid it may be too wide. Anyone run these and have pics? thanks
I ran 265/50s and they were CLOSE...i've never ran bigger but it's definately going to be tight. I know it can be done with custom bent/cut and welded pipes out the back but i don't know about an out-of-the-box catback kit.
I ran 245/50/16's on ponys on a '91 lx with tailpipes. When I took a left turn, like a freeway ramp, the tire would rub on the tailpipe and smoke. I ended up heating up the tailpipe with a torch and banging it in a bit.
My point is just because they don't touch when the car is sitting still, doesn't mean they won't touch when you are driving.
EDIT: for the record, the catback was a flowmaster system.
I'm running 275/50/15 BFG Drag's on 15x8.5 Centerline's and no rubbing. B/S is 5.0 and Magnaflow from the cats back. Look's like I have just about a inch clearence. 88 LX Hatch.
