I am thinking about getting a set of BFG drag radials in 275/50R15. I will be putting them on my 15x8 Welds with a 5" backspacing. I'm wondering if they will clear OK. I currently have 255/60R15 BFG's on there, and there isn't a whole lot of room as the 5" backspace tucks them pretty far in the fender. Surely someone has this wheel / tire combo on their car?

My mistake, I have 5.5 inch backspace as well, not 5". I'm not so much worried about rubbing on the fender lip. I was more concerned about rubbing on the inner fender / wheel well, as that's where I don't have a lot of room.

Cool, thanks guys. I'm considering going with the Nittos as well. I don't really have a preference. The only ones I don't want are the MT's, as they look a little too soft for much street use

nittos are known to run smaller than other tires
Most def true. I have 275/40/17's on 9" wheels 6" b/s and no rubbing. The next time around I think I'm gonna' try the M/T et streets. However, If I stay w/ the Nittos I'm going up to a 315 since they run much narrower than most others.

I have 275/50/15's on some 15x9 (I thought I was buying 15x10's, but I believe they're 15x9's) draglites. They fit on my 90 LX without any spacers, but I did have to use a hammer on the quad shock a little bit - I've never heard of anyone else doing that. I also hammered on the inner fender. The only rubbing I get is if I do a donut or go up an uneven surface - I believe it's the inner fender rubbing.

why not just go with some aftermarket upper and lower control arms in the rear and remove the quad shock altogether.

I tried using some nitto 275/50 using 5.5 draglites and they were hitting my quads and tail pipes...? My car is dropped, I have H&R SS springs, the quads were flipped.

I also tried the 15x9 with 5.5 but just mounting them without tires, they weren't going to work. That's why I bought the 15 x 8 s......
