Hey, I was wondering if anyone out there has put 275 tires on the front of their '94 to '98 mustang. I'm looking up upgrade my wheels and I'd like to go with 17x9 wheels with 275/40-17 tires. According to Americanmuscle.com rubbing could be an issue. But this is the only size that gets you the correct tire diameter of 25.7". Any one have any this size on the front of their car?

Thanks.

Here you go:
275 /17 all the way around for street. 315 / 17 on the rear for the track

Nice! Any issues with rubbing? It looks like you've lowered it also. How much of a drop? What about steering pull or wandering from the wider tires?

I currently have 18" Y2K Cobra R wheels all the way around. They have 265/35-18 tires and I get a fair amount of steering pull or wheel wander on uneven pavement. I love the look of the 18's, but I don't think they're the best handling. That's why I'm going to a 17" wheel. I want the best handling wheel and tire combination. Thanks!

These are the only two that I could find of mine. Mine rub the struts on hrd turn so when it comes time to replace them I will likely go to a 255.

Thanks for the info. What type of wheels do you have? Offset may play into the rubbing.

Any issues with pulling or wandering on uneven pavement with that tire size?

The wheels are Factory 95R's in 17x9". Our roads are terrible here and I do find that it wants to wander if you aren't paying attention.

Hey thanks for the info. I think I'm going to go with 255/45-17 tires on 17x9 Cobra R wheels. Same set up as the '95 Cobra R. These are a little wider than stock and only 1% larger in diameter.

I run 275's on C58 Cobra R's. The only rubbing I get is tire rub on the sway bar.

Looks awsome. I'm going to go with C58 wheels and a little narrower tire to aviod and rubbing.

What type of springs/kit did you use for lowering?

Did you use camber adjustment plates or cam bolts to adjust the camber?

17x9 w/275/40's & 17x10.5 w/315/35's. no rubbing & no wandering that I have noticed. only had them on for about 350mi though. gonna put another 250+mi on them tomorrow. I will try to think about it while I am driving & see if I notice any wandering.

Nice looking Snake I think the anniversary wheels look better on our Cobras then on the New Edge's.

I put another 250+mi on my stangs new wheels last weekend & never noticed any wandering. IMO,I think the 275's make the front feel more stable actually.
