On my 06 GT I ordered 19'' Zenetti wheels with 245 tires in front and 275 in rear. But now the shop that I ordered from says they cant get the rear tire that I wanted in a 275, they can only get it in a 285. I think that the wider the rear tire is the better it will look, but I dont want it to rub at all and I dont want to sacrifice performance. Am I safe to run 285's in the rear with no rubbing at all?

i think as long as the backspacing on the wheel is correct, you should be fine.ive seen people running 305's.
the rear wheel should have around 45mm of backspacing.

I am running 20s with 285's in the rear. Lowered with Sportlines and using the FFRP struts / dampers. No rubbing issues at all. I am planning on moving to a 295/40/20 when these wear down a bit.

You should be a ok with the 285s in the rear. I have a 255 set up in front and 285 in the back on 17 inch wheels.
