289 oil pump question

I am rebuilding my 68 289 and while I have the motor apart I was going to swap in a hi flow oil pump. Does any one know if I can reuse a stock size oil pan or does it need to be of larger capacity?

It seems that most engine builders are installing stock flow and pressure in sbf's. They are not needed and use more power to turn.

another reason not to run a high vol pump with a stock pan is that you run the chance of sucking the pan dry at higher rpms. stock pump is plenty good for almost all
