Hi guys,

I've been told that the shortest engine front end is that from a SN95 or an Explorer and I could do with keeping the engine short...

My problem is I need a 28oz damper for a 331 stroker, are there 28oz dampers available to match the SN95 front pulley set up ?

Thanks for any help, there's not much info over here in England

The damper (balancer) is the same from Fox and SN95, but the fox has a deeper crank pulley that bolts to it. The model # of the SFI balancer I have on my '95 is the same model # for a fox.

Thankyou

That will make life easier, does the SN95 have the 36-1 ring on the damper for the engine manegment ? If so does it just bolt on ?

regards

I had wrongly assumed the SN95 was like the explorer, thanks for the pic.

What pulley set are you running ?

How many bolts hold the pulley to the damper ?

I've found this on the Summit website

Summit Racing SUM-163289 - Summit Racing® OEM Harmonic Dampers - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Does anyone know if this will be OK with the SN95 compatible pulleys ?

Thanks for your patience!

4 bolts

I would get a SFI balancer wether you race or not, the overall quality is much better. Don't buy a cheap balancer!

The Pioneer SFI units are about $175, good pieces for the money, dont stick a OEM style balancer on the stroker.

Thanks for putting up with all the questions

The Pioneer SFI I found on summit looked like it had a cast in pulley spacer that might cause problems ?

Would this one do the job ?

I have a Scat 9000 series crank if that makes a difference.
cheers
