Well I have riped the engine down to nothing. Now I'm putting it all back toghter, I'm replacing every thing form fuel lines, fuel pump, lower and upper intake, exshast, S/C Novi-2000, heads, headers, Well just every thing And all the engine mounts that hold the engine togther. Because I heard after so much horse power that the engine well brake, So I'm not going to let that happen.

There is some pics to tell what I have done.:bang:

Just see red -x's (I want to see the pictures)

No matter what you do, the stock 5.0L block will split in half above 450RWHP. Keep it around 400RWHP and everything will be good.

I agree with srothfuss over 425RWHP you are on borrowed time in many cases.

I personally made 540RWHP/742RWTQ on a stock block, stock internals....but I sold the combo and upgraded before it went BANG!

So I think with both of them I can go over 600 and be fine, but I think I well be no where around that...

:bs:

I say the closer you get to 500 rwhp and + you are REALLY pushing it on the stock block. Instead of buying that girdle (which will just keep all your parts in place when the block blows lol) you should upgrade your rod bolts.

He is calling BS on the speal that you got from the manufactuer of the girdle. All it will do is hold the two halves of the block together when it splits. Don't get me wrong, I am happy you are into Mustangs and that you are fixing one up, we are just trying to inform you that above a certain HP number the stock block will fail. It's a free country and your money....

What is the power figure you are trying to hit?

Thanks but Im not mad he said I just did't understand why. But a few people on svtperformance.com said they work, so I guess I'll try it. I mean all I spend my money on is my car and truck then beer then..... well nothing else.haha Well I hoping to get around the 450 to the 475 wheel power.

What are you calling bs on?!! I just saying what the company say it can do. So what are you calling me out for?

Right but there is a big difference on what a company says a product and do and what it will do. The tornado says it will improve milage and get more power do you believe that?

People say CAI's add like 15 -20 hp (maybe on a blown cobra) but do you believe that too? All's saying is that spouting off what a company claims around these parts will get you reemed.

Yea I get what you are saying but just to be safe I might just try it. Whats the wrost that could happen?. If it would brake, it holds every thing toghter just so I can throw it away at once..........

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying that Main Gurdles are junk and not worth it, I was just saying that don't expect it to strenghten the block to where you will get 600rwhp.

Here's you go... 420 RWHP from a stock block. Notice that the block halves are relatively close to one another. THAT's what the main girdle is good for. Holding the pieces together so that you can possibly reuse the internals. To date, there's no girdle on the market that will beef up the diagnal, torsional stresses that cause them to split down the middle. Now take a look at the attach point pints for your valley girdle and tell me how those are going to prevent the block from twisting laterally. The block were just not designed to handle this kind of horse power. Some folks get lucky... They treat them nice and are careful and they last a few thousand miles. Some are careful and they only last a pass or two. The point is that it's pot luck. An upper, realatively safe limit for a stock 302 block is between 400 and 450 RWHP. Heed the warning and be happy or do't heed the warning and discover the truth of it the hard way. :)
