3.73 gears or 4.10 with a SC car?

The original question was about gears for the street, not the track, but your point is well taken, the stock Goodyears are probably the wrong tires with a blower. I don't go to the track, but I'd imagine that the best gears with slicks may be very different than with street tires.

Ahhh, but what if he uses a positive displacement style blower (Kenne Bell, Saleen, Roush, etc) that give him nearly full boost right off idle. No need to swap out to such a steep gear then. For my money, i'd rather have the instant torque, myself. :nice:

Can someone explain more on a "POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT" style blower...I ask because the blower i was wanting, is a KB.

From what I have gathered thus far, steep gearing with a blower is equal to poor traction? Well my question for that is, can I get an upgraded suspension to fix this problem...or is the suspension not the issue?

Thx

Thanks fireman and G.

Well, anyone know of a good kit to go with as far as a suspension upgrade? Anyone have a good site where I can read more on what it takes to have a suspension to handle higher gears and a blower?

Thx :)

i think the gearing depends on if its going to be mainly for street use or you want the most out of it at the track. I would take advice from most on this board with a grain of salt. 3.55s are a waste of money going from 3.27s

I changed from 3.27's to 3.55's. The difference is pretty small and probably not worth the effort. The main reason I made the change was to keep 2nd gear at a safe (ticket avoiding) speed in town. 2nd gear tops out at about 66mph with 3.27's and 61 mph with 3.55's.
