Is that parts included? The labor should run about 200...

I paid 595 for gears and bearings labor included.

200 is a little on the cheap side depending on where you live.. the only way in my area too get a price like that is if somebody did it on the side..

my shop get 93 bucks a hour and i know i will not touch a rear end job for 2 hours pay.. lol

but on the side i think i would do 250

most shop will quote a day because rear end installs are risky.. major risk of setting it up multiple times too do it right..

plus it's a HUGE risk for the shop.. gear installs will comeback if not done right and the shop then would be paying for gears and if another tech does it the second time labor too.. most buisnesses weight the risk factor into jobs when they quote.. we have too or we will not be in buisness..

sure you can charge exactly what it takes.. but then what happens when you come back and complain about noise in the rear end or some other problem happens..

people think this job is easy and shops make a killing.. you have no idea how much misdiags, parts failures and other stuff costs the shop..

out of that 93 bucks a hour we are lucky if we have a effective labor rate of 45 a hour.. thats after figuring in cost and discounts.. then after that losses and other stuff eats at that too..

fact is the customers want there car fixed NOW and most are not willing too pay big diag charges too diag it right the first time.. so this is what happens.. the labor too install gets inflated too make up for other losses..

$250 for labor and fluids. done by a shop, not on the side. used gears with 500 miles on them 80 bucks and not a hint of whine.

I gave 250 at a Ford garage. I wouldn't give no more than 300.

$460 on labor alone, this was on the "max" the guy quoted me at, just in case they have problems

seems like in CA everything is more expensive...

I got quoted $500 for labor only. When it's all said and done the total cost will be around 8-900 dollars. BUT this is the best bang for the buck...

A guy here does it for about $450. That's including frpp gears, and new fluids. So ~$200 for labor.

cost varies from place to place. One of the local gear shops here wants 1000 and you bring them the rearend they won't touch it in the car. Some others go as low as 150 for install, I suggest shopping around.
