I'm installing the FRPP 3.73 tomorrow morning . I also have the MustangTuning bearing and installation kit . so I'm all set. The oil and friction modifier will be available at the shop I'm going to. anyways my question is : If someone knows how to instal 3.55 is that mean he knows how to instal 3.73 , is the installation all the same??

my mechanic told me he will do it for $160 thats sounds GOOD.

oh yah this is another good question i need to have an answer by it. The same mechanic instals stock gears all the time , so is that mean he will be okay installing 3.73 gears? can i trust him

thank you

$160 seems cheap. Now I can do it myself in 2 hours. When I called a bunch of shops to get quotes for my 4.10's, the acted like it would take all day and some quoted me over $500. My buddy ended up doing it for me for $200. I wish I knew what I was doing then, it seemed so confusing at the time but setting up a ring and pinion is pretty easy. Depending on how mechanically inclined you are, you could probably do it yourself. But if not, $160 is a very good price. And as hotrodnut said, it's all the same, ratio doesn't matter. It's getting the right carrier pre load, backlash, and contact pattern that matters.
