I have a manual 2000 GT with some bolt ons and come spring a blower will be put on wether i have to take out a loan or can pay in cash. I was thinking about 3:55s for awhile but I heard it would not make much of a differnce, but on the other had i do want to drive on the interestate and not be rapped out. My buddy has a set of 3:73s sitting in his garage that are new and he will give me a desent price. He was going to use them in his 90GT auto, but he got 4:10s at the last minute... and that made he car nutz with a 1,500 stall and a shift kit.

Well I guess my question is if i should get 3:73s with a blower...

if u get a blower 3.73 are highly recommended on the 1/4 mile...if anybody tells u different ask the company ur buying it from...4.10 will redline u in 4th..no good...unless it's a weak a** blower

Since you have a gt i would go with a 373. If you had a 4v since you can go to 6800 you can get away with a 410 and be fine.

Now if you have a 4v,410, T600 trans with the 2.83 1st gear, and blown you'll be fly'n. IMO i think that is a great set up for a 4v.

Since you are getting a blower I wouldn't go with anything over 3.73s.

What type blower? If Twin Screw don't go more than 3.73's. I have them and love them with my KB, but with the torque the KB, and roots blowers, put out, 3.73's are tops.

I am planning on the procharger this coming spring, and am told that they will tune it down to make 360 or 390 depending on what i want. Of course i want the 390, but that gets close to the 400hp range and at that point I hear 2 differnt storeys. 1- the heads can't take the power and thats no good. 2- The rods can't take it and come out which is horrible. On top of that I think the cluch will go if I go over 400hp...

Anymore sugestions?

why wouldnt the stock heads take 400 hp? what about P&p heads with all the goodies, will that handle the 400 hp for him?

by the way 3.73!

You're misinformed a bit. The PI Heads that come stock on your 2000 GT can easily take 400hp, they can take tons more hp than that, in fact the "heads" are probably good for 650+hp.

It's the rods that are the weakest link and they don't come out, they break, but those too are good for 400+hp of daily driver duties. I've got 19K worth of blower time on my 2000 GT, now with 72K total, making 443 rwhp all on stock rods. So far so good and if they do go, I've gotten my money's worth out of them thus far.

the cool air intake and underdrives will be gone with the blower install.

with a standard P1 you should make around 350-370 with your other mods and a good tune.

take a look in my garage for my mod list....ATI setup making 431rw on a safe tune through stock exhaust with a P1SC-2 blower. I recommend this blower to anyone buying ATI for their GT. it'll cost you a couple hundred more to upgrade from the standard P1 and give you a ton more boost, HP, and TQ on the dyno.
