3 questions... block and heads

1. I just took my 00 4.6 apart and in the intake valley, there is a small treaded hole that had nothing in it. In my new mmr 900, the same thing is there and am curious to why it's there.

2. Does anyone know the valve clearances with 18cc dished pistons on my stock heads? 2000 4.6 GT. (I know this is pretty technical but if anyone has it, it would be appreciated)

3. Also, I am installing cams in the heads (which are done) and am now going to find TDC. I looked in my haynes manual and I could only find how to get your cams at TDC if you don't take them out. So the question is, how do you put your new cams at TDC. The new cams don't have a fitting for a cam tool.

Is the threaded hole in the back of the block of the intake valley? Firewall side...

You have to rotate the cams to get them to 'top dead center' orientation so you can time the cams. The above page shows how to do it...

Rotating your crankshaft keyway to 10:30, aka 315*, puts the #1 piston to TDC. You want the cams rotated to the Figure 1 picture in the above article before putting the keyway at 10:30....

Anyways, I know I didn't help much, but a bump none-the-less...

I actually just found that article. That is exactly what I needed. Thanks for posting it. The threaded hole is exactly in the center of the intake valley. I heard it could be for the knock sensor, and I called mmr, and the guy seemed ify and said it was for the knock sensor. Just wanted to make sure.
