300 I6 in a 65 ?

Anyone ever looked into using a 300 ci I6 if a previous I6 (170 ci) car ? I wonder about the overall lenth of the 300. A guy on craigslist has a complete nonrunning engine for $50 before it goes to scrap yard. Seems like an interesting swap if it's doable.

The 300 was a truck motor and should have a Windsor bell housing. I think the mounts For a car are going to be an issue, and length is going to make it a tight squeeze. But more power can be made with the not cast in manifolds.

Talked to a guy yesterday that said he had done it. It's long, but not too long. It is taller but able to close hood with using aftermarket air cleaner.
