3000 RPM Stall, What Intake Manifold/Powerband?

All,

I need a new intake manifold as my Cobra manifold is cracked and broken.

Mods are in sig, but in brief, I run:
stock heads/cam
stock bottom end
4.10s
3000 RPM lockup torque converter
125 shot of nitrous


Now, I'm tempted to go with an intake manifold with a 1500-6500 (Track Heat, Typhoon) powerband because of my 3000 RPM stall speed...but, will this cause a flow issue and loss of power with my stock heads?

Would I be better off with an idle-5500 manifold (Street Heat, Eddy Performer)? If I wasn't running a 3000 RPM stall this would be a no-brainer.

Basically, will a 1500-6500 manifold create a loss in horsepower above 3000 RPM for my stock headed/stock cammed car? Or will it only hurt down low and make MORE power up top than a 0-5500 RPM manifold?

All searches of the forums have yielded is that the 1500-6500 manifolds lead to a loss in low end power...which isn't a factor for me because my car stalls at 3000. I want to know how it effects performance above this for stock headed/cammed cars.

Shawn, even with the 3000 stall converter I think you'd be better off with a longer runner intake such as the edlebrock performer for example. Look at what Bill (Rio94GT on SCS) said after he switched from his performer to the holley. I told him I thought it was a bad choice and he said it lost a on down low. The short runner intake don't shine until you have the heads and cam that will allow the engine to pull into the 6000rpm range. Until then their design can actually have a negative effect. Your valves will float long before you get near the RPM range that those shorter runners are designed for.

One question, isn't the Holley even shorter runner/higher powerband than the TFS Track Heat/Eddy Performer RPM? I was under the impression that the Holley that Rio94GT went with was more comparable to the RPM II?

One things for sure: Anything has got to be better than the POS stocker! I never realized how much the Cobra manifold helped until I put the stock one back on...wow, the car feels SO slow right now.
 
im going to be running a Trick Flow Street manifold with my current mods....?????

good, or bad idea????????

o and i would hang with the EDDY manifold, have not heard anything but good results from them

Looks like I'll be going with a Street Heat intake then...

Too bad, because the Typhoon is SO cheap. :D
