302 in a 66 convertible (sending unit question)

I have a 302 from a 76 Granada that I am putting into the 66 convertible. The question I have is do I have to do anything special as far as the gauges go ? The gauges are original. I assume the oil sending unit and the temp sending unit will work from the 302 but I'd like to make sure. When I look at the Mustang catalogs they talk about 302 sending units but not sure if there's any difference in my 76 Granada 302

Use the sending units for the 66 and you'll be fine.

I assume you're not planning on having a fast car then? Do like jeffnoel said and just use the 66 sending units.

I will use the original sending units. And no...I don't want a really fast car....just one with a little more pep than an inline 6. I'd like to be able to drive it and not stop at a gas station every two miles . Any idea what kinda gas mileage I can expect ?

Not much more power or mileage than the six it's replacing, if you have done nothing to the 76 Granada motor. The mid to late 70's 302's weren't known to be powerhouses or particularly effecient either. With increased power also comes efficiency,(if you choose your parts right) the key is to keep your right foot under control to make use of the increased power to get the effeciency. I don't want to rain on your parade, but just be realistic. Don't expect great things with a swap as you're doing.

The OE 6-cyl was rated at 120 hp the 76 302 is rated at 139. The case 289 offered in 66 was rated at 200 hp so with the added weight of the v8 you'll need to at least do some bolt-on just to get it rollin.
