"347's did have oil issues that is true
however
that was a long time ago
and
that problem has been fixed for quite some time now."
Ok. If there were anyone's advice I would take it IS GRADY's. Now, isn't this statement that ou made dependant upon the BUILDER? Given the answer is YES. Who do y...who would you trust to build your 347 Grady?
The oil thing came about from parts that were not effective at controlling the oil.
Newer, more effective parts came along which fixed the problem
so
the builder or his skill does not come into play in this case.
Having a motor built is not all that much unlike:
having a Pro tune your Stang
having a Pro align your Stang
having a Pro paint your Stang
You wanna find a guy who can give good references
and
Those references check out to be good references
If you wanna go with a local guy ......
you can go to your local 1/4 mile strip
and
ask peeps who the local motor building Guru is.
If you wanna go with a ready built short block .....
I think Paul and Mike used a fellow by the name of Rick
You could use Mark over at CHP
There is DSS
and others
IIRC, Vibe had a 347 built so you could search there as well
