Hey everyone. I have a 95 5-speed with a 331 stroker with 10-1 compression with GT40P heads and TFS intake and cam. I have NGK TR4 plugs and I cant get it timed right. They are the coldest plugs that NGK has for the 302. I have tried every timing setting from 8-14 and it pings at no matter what I have it set at. I have also tried one step hotter plugs earlier and it still pinged. What plugs should I use for this motor? I dont care what brand and I don't want fancy platinum ones either. Any help would be great.

i agree. get rid of those ngk's (which belong in nissans) and put the autolites in (which belong in fords with aluminum heads). if u want a colder plug than the autolite 3924 than u can go with an autolite 3923, 3922, etc.

I have iron P heads tho. Should I still run the autolite 3924's still?

If you have gt40 p heads, then you need autolight 104's or 103's for a colder plug.

i run 103's with 10lbs of boost ob my gt-40p heads and they are cold enough, but you might still be able to use a 104 n/a

the plugs people are talking about above are not for gt-40p heads, which take a special plug due to sparkplug placement for "fast Burn" combustion chambers.

WHy would you need super cold plugs for your stroker? I run Autolite 3924s(stock heat range) on my 347 and they work great.

It does not work with the stock plugs it pings, my tuner told me to try colder plugs.

I think I will get some autolite 103's and see how they work.
