331 Stroker with DSS Main Support System???

I'm building a 331 Stroker for my 93 LX. The shortblock came with a DSS Main Support System and Windage Tray. When I tried to install the Oil pump pickup tube - it hit the side of the support. (1) Has any body had experience in building using this unit? (2) Will it hurt my oil pressure or volume to dent the side of the tube to make it work?

My aftermarket oil pan seems to clear the support - unlike some of the post I found. Also, I found the dipstick hit the support, but I was able to "tweek" the dipstick tube (BEND IT) to allow the stick to slide past the support.

Any experience should make my install easier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple things to keep in mind...

1. You need to make sure that you keep a proper clearance between the pick-up tube and the bottom of the oil pan. The goal is to make sure it is not to far from the oil (if it gets low) or to close to the bottom (creates a blocking/starvation problem. I have read 1/2" is a pretty standard setting, but I would check that.

2. Denting the pick-up tube is something I would be vary wary of duting. The last thing you want to do is restrict the oil flow to the pump.

Hopefully someone can help you much better than I so you can get that thing on the road:nice:
