Since you ordered the engine with the cam already, one would assume that the people you ordered the engine from had a reason for installing that cam in the engine. So my guess is that yes, that cam will work, and no, it is not to big. That being said, I do not know what the application is for the engine, how it will be driven, how often and for what purpose. So, I really do not know if that cam will fit your needs. The Cobra intake may be the limiting factor as far as peak H.P. numbers go, but it shoould be a torque monster down low. Have the upper intake extrude honed, and the lower intake ported and you will gain more power, but for the amount of $ that will take, you could buy a better intake manifold. I personally would be putting a 30 lb/hr injector in the engine amoung other things.

the motor is being built by dominator engines out of arlington, tx. this is just for a cruiser car a weekend toy. i wanted about 350-400 hp. i was jsut curious about the cam being i want soemthing that i can drive and not be a race car

I have a 331 and a bigger cam yet (Comp XE274) and it behaves nicely, so I would worry about that. If you told them you wanted it to have street manners, then I am sure they selected an appropriate cam. For just a cruising car, I think the Cobra intake will be fine. I also agree with the 30lb injector suggestion.

alright thanks i seen some 30 lb injectors by ford racing and on 5.0 resto for about 200 bucks are they ok. or is there another good place to pick some up even some used would be fine. i am going to check out another intake. i good a buddy with a bbk i might try his once i get the motor in when.

I have pretty much the same set up as you. Love the XE274

I had to install a vacuum reservoir for the brakes though.
