Doing a restore of a 73 vert. Running a 351C, Edlbrock intake, Holly 750 carb, MSD Distributor. Here's the problem. Mounted the Holly Carb today and put the Ram Air air clearner on and the MDS dist is 2 1/2 inches to tall. The air cleaner does not seat. Called MSD and explained the problem, thay said "go find a dist that fits" Thanks thats was a lot of help! Any one here has any suggestion of another dist to use. I could get a way with a 1" spacer under the carb but not a 2" and still use the RAM air (or so I told)

Thanks!

MSD makes a shorter distributor, that's what I'm using. Like I said on the other forum I also have a Blue Thunder intake which sits a little taller than the Ed mani.

Thanks for the info and the pict, it helps! Do you remember what model MSD dist you have. Like I said, MSD was NO HELP! Summit was a little better, they suggested I talk to the guys at Blower Drive Service, they deal with dist to fit under blowers. They suggested a Mallory with a "short cap". It saves the 2 1/2 inches I need and is compatiable with the MSD coil and ignition box. I was also thinking of adding a 1 inch spacer under the carb, any thoughts?

Thanks!

I will have to look it up and post tomorrow. The 1" carb spacer will help tons on the Edelbrock manifold. I had one before I got the Blue Thunder and I could really tell the difference with the carb spacer on.
