Not that Ive ever seen..

If you want more power the 4V Quench (closed chamber) heads are the way to go. There is 1 website that sells completely refurbished units as well as used heads.

Yes they make alumium heads for cleveland motors.

They are a little pricey though because demand in light since the factory heads are just so gosh darn good.

here are a couple of places that I know off:
http://www.airflowdynamics.com.au/

http://www.chiheads.com/main.html

http://bluethunderauto.com/

You can get all the information about clevelands from cleveland guys over on the 335 forum: http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/119419

yes, you can source them through ebay for around 1200 bucks.

there is a guy local to me who seems to get them about once a month. he quoted me $75 for shipping. (lower 48)

I bought a set of 351c 4v quench heads. Everyone keeps telling me they are dogs on the street but im hoping to prove them wrong with flat top pistons, comps x-treme energy 284h, torker intake, headers, 750 edelbrock, 2600 stall, and 3:70 or 3:90 out back. Im guessing this combo should make about 390HP at the fly? Right now I have a 1972 351c 2v, with a pathetic 177HP, open chamber heads and dished pistons. Seems like the guys making the big HP are running the 4v heads. IM debating on port plates to maybe improve bottom end?

People who say 351c is a dog on the street either never rode in a cleveland or had a friend that knew nothing about cars that managed to mismatch enough componenets to ruin a perfectly good motor.

I have a ford perfomance book that shows a bunch of buildups for ford motors. they built it then dyno'd the motor.

they ran a cleveland with flat tops, 73 open chamber 2v heads (stock) and a custom ground cam.

they dyno'd the motor at a little over 400 fwhp.

CHI's prices seem a bit high.

route666. how much does a set cost if you went to the scrapyard and pulled a set off a car?

You'll make in the 425 hp range. Also, Ford made a bunch of aluminum cleveland heads - a302, b302, and c302. Brodix makes a good cleveland copy in their 200 and 300 series heads, too. Don't forget the Yates heads.

Woh, CHI heads at a scrap yard, that's like living people in a cemetary, not many there, and if they are there, aren't there for long.

Seriously, these heads haven't been around for long, and I doubt that many people have bought them so the chance of finding them at a wrecker is about zero.

The prices do seem a little steep for the US, but if you paid AU price minus GST, converted to US dollars, plus shipping, it would be better.

Don't feel guilty about not getting the CHI ones, twas just a suggestion.

I might recommend going to a little higher stall on the converter... 2800-3000 get off the line a bit quicker, without losing drivability.

Oh, hmm, I dunno, probably a close chance to zero again. I know Australia is the land of Clevelands, but not that many Clevelands have been given aluminium heads, and have been crashed, and were not stripped before going to the wrecking yard. Someone's probably already found them if they had anyway. Couldn't guess price, but I'd say VERY cheap. maybe a factor of more than five times cheaper than new.

They would still have standard ports though, unlike the CHI ones, which have uniform area ports, for good air speed, not just volume.
