the 351W in my 80 lincoln has a fixed timing distributer and the rotor is a cross? what the hell does it do? can i put and older adjustable distributer in with a regular rotor so i can set the timing?
also the carb is a 2bbl variable venturi unit which seems pretty small. i just ordered a performer intake for it. which carb is good for a pretty much stock 351?
the main reason for these upgrades is because its a dog right now and it pings too. it seems to be pinging worse after replaceing the factory single 2" exhaust with dual 2 1/4" pipes and flowmasters. could this make the motor run leaner and ping worse?
