A friend of mine wants to do this swap, and i have no idea whether it'd be easy or not. What would be required to do this swap into an 00 V6 car? Is it difficult? any articles written on this? let me know thanks

* i posted this over at the v6 tech forums but i dont think i would get much a response over there

Will it be carb'd, or fuel injected? If fuel injected, you'll need a new harness and computer (which will also mess up your gauges). I'm not sure about motor mounts, maybe someone else can chime in.

Is there a reason your friend wants to go with a 351 (i.e. does he already have one)? A 4V swap would also be nice.

i think its more of the cost factor since we can find a good running fully assembled 351w for 300 bucks around here. for the ease factor, he'd probably go carb.

The rear end would also need to be swapped, the 7.7 rear end would become the weak link.

I would say scratch the 351w idea and look into a navigator engine I have seen that swap done before in 5.0 mustangs and super fords. It s a DOHC 5.4l V8. Definitely something to consider. If you work that engine and put on a nice sized turbo it will be out. Check local Junk yard listings for prices on that engine. Im sure that swap would not be as difficult as a 351.
