My buddy just gave me an excellent running 351W out of an 88 Ford Bronco and I want to put it into my 87 GT. I just learned that it's not a roller motor, so my question is do I really have to convert it to a roller motor before I can use it in my GT? If so how much does a conversion kit cost?

I'm planning on using the eddie heads from my 302 for now, and my be upgrade my Demon 650 to a 750.

Any cam recommendations?

just find a 351 cam that will work, just make sure the firing order is the same as a 5.0 ho. i thing all 351 cams are the 5.0 ho firing order.
roller conversion kits are expensive. this was u can use your existing 351 push rods and so on

You don't have to do a darned thing to it. If it's a working engine, then don't mess with it! If, in the future you plan on doing some modifications, then you'll need to think about which sort of conversions - if any - you believe are necessary. The 351W is a great conversion engine because of its similarities to the 302.

If you ever decide to go with rollers, I recommend tapping the lifter valley for a spider tray. It works great.
