Hello all!

1st: It was a 69 428 SCJ Drag Pack car in guy's back yard sitting for years protected by a pit bull (I eventually bribed the dog to let me in the back yard to peek under the car-cover)...Carlsbad NM...1989. Dad asked "Does it run". I answered "no, but it's all there except the "N" on the trunk lid. Dad said "No". 2 weeks later a co-worker of my dad's bought it for $1,500.00. (yes...one-thousand five-hundred. Guy was going to sell it to ME for $1,200. Damn. Anyway...last I heard it was 95% restored in Florida.

2nd: Another R code (this time a Mach 1) in a mechanic's yard...1997...Hobbs NM. No engine, trans. Everything else was there. Bought the car for $2,000. Took it to my x-father in law's shop. 2 years later it disappeared from his shop. Still no clue where it is. I think he crushed the car. Seriously.

3rd time's a charm. 1969 F code -factory A/C Sportsroof. 85% ready. Runs, drives, completely original floors, quarters, drivetrain, interior, down to the spare tire, jack and wrench. It did have a new hood, fender, and core support installed because some kid wrecked it several years ago. ZERO rust anywhere on this car. I can't remember seeing a survivor this damn solid and clean. Garage kept it's whole life.

Long story short - I found this car in 2009 and it wasn't for sale. A friend called me up on Thursday, 09/11/14 and told me he heard of a guy who wanted to sell his 69 Fastback. I called, found out where the car was and realized it was the same guy and car I met 5 years ago. I brought it home the following Saturday.

It's not my big block 'dream' car...but it's beautiful. It's been pretty-well taken care of. It's a perfect project car for me. The more I dig into this car, the better it gets. I finally have a 69 Sportsroof, ya'll...after a 20 year wait!!!

And so...the fun begins!!
