Well I guess I am so " biased " right? I own a LS1 and a GT like I care.

People who run 4.10 gears on a near stock car are wasting there money. I have yet to lose to a near stock geared up car in my GT w/3.27

4.10 really aren't the cure all, not to mention most cars that benifit from them have thrown all of there low end torque out the window with other mods.

One of my buddies has 4.10 and the other has 3.73. The 3.73 car feels ok but I wouldn't drive the 4.10 car if you paid me.

Hey CodyGT waht do you run at the track, cause honestly if its possible to keep my 3:27's I would cause since I have an auto it'll cost me like $800 to complete the gear swap.

4.10s are great for the first two gears. But once you get to 60mph+, forget it. The LS1 will still eat you up. You need hp to keep up with those monsters. I learned that with my 01GT + 4.10s.

why would it cost you $800 for gears with an auto. The type of transmission you have has nothing to do with rear-end gears cost.

You may not be biased but you are very misinformed. 4.10's will get a stock car down the track quicker unless the driver has a traction problem.

Well I guess everyone is entitled to there opinion. I kill cars with 4.10's so I am not stating opinion.

I run 13.6 @ 102mph with a stock H-pipe and 3.27's.

To counter that, ive killed cars with 3.27's. There are cars with 3.27's that will beat cars with 4.10's. and there are cars with 4.10's that will embarass 3.27's. Gears are a key factor, but so are driver, hp, trq, weight, ect. 4.10's multiply trq much better then 3.27's. So off the line, a 4.10 car will get the jump and get the lead assuming both cars are equal hp wise and traction wise. So then the 3.27 car is playing catch up. In stop light duels, id rather have 4.10's anyday. Up top, i dont know yet. i havent raced from a 60 roll with my 4.10s. From driving around though, the car pulls harder in every gear.

I dont know anout the rest of you, but if I want to be able to beat an LS1, I want to truly beat it. Launching at 4K with drs and suspensions mods and running to 50 MPH before he has a chance of catching up is not beating it IMO.Sure you beat him to 50 or whatever and maybe through the 1/4 but his car still traps better and WILL catch you if you keep on it.Like the mach vs the gt...stock vs stock the gt will NEVER run down the mach, same with the camaro vs the vette, the camaro will never run it down.Thats my idea of beating a car.Not cheating with DRs and high rpm launching. Not every race is from a dead stop, if from a rolling 60MPH, those DRs and suspension mods are not going to do jack and you WILL get murdered.Go for the HP mods, like a s/c or new heads, intake, cams,LTs,o/r x,catback, and even a CAI if you want.(wont do much but every bit helps) with that setup, COMBINED with DRs and suspension mods you will MURDER them off the line, and be able to hold the off in the 60MPH races....that my friend is truly beating an LS1. BTW hope money is no object, because otherwise you bought the wrong car to try to waste LS1s with.

Gears $130
Install $250
programmer $375

With a auto you have to reprogram the computer for the shift points will be corrected along with the speedo unlike in a 5 speed were you can just throw the speedcal on it and be on your mary way.

Doing mods and gaining hp in the higher rpm range will benefit more with 4.10's or 4.30's. Cars with alot of low end torque dont need gears as much.
What your saying is ass backwards.

I raced a Ram Air Bird(not sure what year) from a 5 roll. I started out in 1st and stayed side by side with him 'til going into 4th gear.

A real race is from a stop until a determined distance. We'll just use the good old 1320' as an example. It doesn't matter how you do it or how fast you are going when you get there, the first car to the finish wins. It's that simple. Are you telling me that you want to be racing a car well past the 100+ mph mark on a public road with obstacles like PEOPLE and OTHER CARS?? Not to mention the police. Racing from 60+ proves nothing.

What you are trying to say is you want the fastest car on the road. You are driving the wrong car my friend. Sell your mustang and go buy yourself an early 90's ZR1 Corvette and then go race some cars from a 60+ roll.
