4.30s just in w/a write up

i got em installed today, holy sh1t its sweet. it doesnt feel like the "extra 50 horsepower"alot of people say it does but there is a ton more get up and go ihavent done any highway driving yet so i cant comment on that.
unfortunately my tuner cant seem to get my speedometer correct still after 2 attempts so my shifting/speedometer is kinda funky so i dont think im runnin at the gears full potential yet.
as a comparison my buddy w/an 02 gt auto w/magnapacks, x pipe, pirelli tire, full roush suspension, and cold air intake dropped by. we went from like a 10 mph roll up to 70ish i think. i killed him big time from a slower roll. and from a higher roll like 30ish, id get the jump and keep the lead of like 1.5 cars and keep it except for once when he just walked me.
lastly, there is some gear whine with my motive gear any questions feel free to ask

What year is your GT and what tranny do you have in your car ? Also, what are the other mods you have ? Glad you like the 4.30's. This is making me a little impatient as I'm still awaiting the install.

4.30's i almost went w/ them.... since i have an auto but i decided not to since i planned on some decent mods and didnt want to run DR's.... even though i am now lol.... o well.

anyways your suppose to break in your gears slowly.... even though you want to mash the gas.... dont.

I had 4.10s installed today. Same thing. It moves faster, but I would have thougt it would have been faster. It scream through first. But I have a superchips tuner, and they did a speed cal even though I told them not too. I have to get the tuner reflashed $125, and have to have the car reflashed to stock. The shop did a nice job up until that point. No gear whine at all. But what a f#$$en pain in the 00s.

If you've already been out mashing it, and nothing bad has happened, I wouldnt be too worried about it. Might want to change your gear fluid though after 1000 miles of them being in there to get out all the "break in" shavings.

Don't wory about breaking them in...it really is not much of a big deal.

But you better get that speedo fixed soon with an auto before you damage your transmission. Acurate speed inputs are very important with an auto.

again noobliness just try and bare with me. is there a drain plug and a fill plug?

There is a fill plug. I'm not sure if there is a drain plug though or not. If there's not, just loosen the differential case and let the fluid drain out the bottom but don't take it off.

where did u get ur chip n did it help ur auto n anything else in your car besides the gears? i have an 2002GT Auto, still deciding what to do with it..

For the automatic, the following mods are the best.

Transmission cooler - It's a must as heat is the number one killer of the automatic transmission

Shift kit - The Jerry mod shift kit is the best out in my opinion. I have it and love it. Best of all, it can be done to your stock valve body and accumulator pistons. Go to www.tccoa.com and read their transmission articles on the 4r70w automatic transmission for more information.

Torque converter - No less than a 2800 rpm stall. This is a great way to get a hard launch in the automatic to make up for that "slugishness" some automatics have off the line. This is an expensive mod though so keep that in mind when figuring this in to your mod list.

Gears - No less than 4.10's if n/a. If you're boosted, you may want 3.73's.

Dyno tune - Best way to get the most from your combo. Through a tune, you can get your shift points set exactly where you want them, correct the speedo for gear changes, advance ignition input, alter your a/f mixture, etc. You can do similar with sport chips and programmers, however, nothing beats a tune.

my friends helped install it for me but ya i put the chip in w/o the gear and definately noticed a differnce. maybe it was just the shift points  but the car definately felt more torquey. all i have right now is a k&n and a drop
