I have a chance to pick up a 95 Lincoln Mark VIII tomorrow. The DOHC 4.6 has issues. The owner was told it had a busted piston, but he's not a car guy. What's this motor worth and what's the block, aluminum or iron? Gonna gut the car and build a strip car with it. So the drivetrain will be sold. What's it all worth?

Pretty much the only thing that is worth money is the teksid aluminum block. I wouldn't pay more than $200 for the engine.

OK, thanks. I think I'm going to wait and pass on this car. Needs some body work (left rear quarter and a dent in the pass. side door). There's always good used candidates with good body's and blown engines coming around here.
