4.6L break in period and gas milage

I have noticed that the gas milage of the car is slowly increasing. Is this due to the new engine braking in? It started out at 17.5 and is now at 19.9. I am almost at 300 miles now. Just courious, as this is very interesting as the how high the reading will actually go.

I have also noticed that the car seems to be getting stronger, but this could be me getting better with the stick.

Likely it's just different driving habits that is making the chg in your observed mileage.
A new motor will generally make more power after a brief period of break-in, but that is a short window...sub 5K miles. Experience, as you noted, always helps!

I think 300 miles is too soon to get an accurate reading. The last few times I checked (all in a row) I averaged 20-21 mpg.

I have a display that gives an average mpg. That is what I was using as a reference. But you are probably right 300 miles might be a bit too soon.

Have you gone through a full tank of gas yet? The easiest way is to keep track at the end of each tank how many miles you went and how many gallons it took. The power should increase a little as the engine breaks in and the mph might im not sure:shrug:
