Hey guys, just wanting an opinion.
I have an 85 GT sitting here at the house, and a 4.6L out of a 97 or 98 GT with complete wiring harness, and computer. See the wheels turnin yet? hahaha
Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone has tackled this yet, and how they went about it. Excuse my ignorance, but I'm new to the newer electronics, computers, and fuel injection.
Thanks for any input!

This has been done many times... There are many parts out there designed to make the swap easier. Some of the others members have performed the swap and I'm sure will chime in with more info.

you should really keep that engine where it is, first off if you have to ask thats not gonna be good, second you'll make more power with a pushrod

a 96-98 4.6 is pretty much on par with the 5.0 you will do better with a cam and a GT-40P swap from a sexplorer.

plus thats a on of work for that motor, now if you had an 03 cobra setup it would be a diff story

I'm not really looking for a setup that will rotate the earth under my wheels, the reason I was looking at this option was for the sheer reliability of fuel injection. I was more or less wondering about things that would need to be swapped (k member etc) and if there are any kits out there for the swap. I am wanting to make this thing more of a cruiser, than a hot rod. Thats what the 94 351C carbed Mustang is for haha.
I'm not new to the car scene or anything like that, and I'm not worried about my ability to do this, been doing things like this for years. I was more or less wondering about issues like the anti theft systems on some of these cars, PATS? I believe its called, and if that is an issue that people have ran into.

Modular Fox

Definitely toss a pi top end on that 4.6. Rob give you around 260-270hp due to the compression bump with 96-98 pistons.

Those engines really aren't worth the effort.

It is an interesting concept, but for what just the suspension costs to do the swap, you could buy an explorer engine and install it.
