4-banger transmission...

I found a 4-banger trans for my car at the junkyard for cheap...And my T-5 trans is basicly shot. will 4 banger tras hold up to the amount of power im making with 4.30 gears...can it handle the power? what will I need for the swap I heard some kind of 8 tooth spline or something..IDK

BTW, try a search for this topic...there are hundreds of threads about this, including the pilot bearing part number that you'll need to make it work.

part number is in my sig. All you basically need to do is install the mazda (1978) pickup bearing and your good. Same shifter, same driveshaft, same mount, ..........all should be good. Even same clutch (or at least I used the same one). good luck

4.30 will be way to low a gear with the 4 banger tranny.i used 3.55s and 3.73s when i was using a 4 banger tranny and the car actually went faster with 3.55s.those trannys are tougher than most people think.i never exploded mine,i just replaced it with a t-5z but i actually liked the 4 cylinder model better.
