im replaceing my hood soon on my 88 GT due to damage. I was thinking of picking up a FG 4" cowl hood from a junkyard in my area. I've seen these in mags and pics but never in real life. my first question is are they worth it opposed to a regular hood or a scoop hood. and the other is, how does this cowl look from the inside? will it obstruct my windsheild at all? anybody have pic rom the inside of the car?
thanks

If your not very tall you should stick w/ a 2.5". No real benefit. Maybe extracts some heat from the engine compartment but primairly used for engine clearance issues

4" cowl hoods look bad azz on Fox body mustangs. I would love to run one but would feel dumb unless I was pushing 500+ horse under the hood. Too much show without the go. I'm happy with my 2.5" Cervinis for now.

i agree with if your short not to get it, i have a 4 inch ram air hood on my 88gt and i'm 6'1. its wierd at first but i just got used to it. however, if u can pick the hood up cheap, grab it, you can always sell it later.

I have a 4" hood. I picked it up because my stock one flew up and I got a good deal on the 4". I'm 6'1" and it doesn't block my view too much. Many people like it but I am currently looking to get a 2.5" or 3".

My 4" isn't installed yet, but here's what it'd look like from inside. It's sits kind of high because it was laying on top of my other hood. It would be lower once installed. Don't think you'll have any viewing problems. I was sitting back low in the back seats when I took that pic. Looks greats
