Hi all,

Did a search and didn't find anything on the subject so I thought I'd post here.

This is where I'm at... My 35th GT is nearing 300K and I haven't bought a new car since my 2001 Steeda, so I'm a little out of touch - as I've begun to realize :)

Here are my thoughts on cars that are somewhat close to my price range....

2009 Dodge Challenger R/T - Gorgeous car! 375 hp is pretty sweet, but the thing is too darn heavy! You can really feel the weight in-between shifts. The skip-shift mechanism would have to go, and I don't like stability control nannies. Needless to say - $34K for a 6-speed R/T - There isn't enough bang for the buck for me here and $34K is a lot of money to me.

2010 Mustang GT - I just don't like it. I don't like the styling, the back end, the black underhang stuff, etc... Power upgrade appeared to pretty much be a reflash and bumps you up to 91 Octane. I'll wait on the next restyle...

2009 Shelby GT - This is a beautiful car. Ford and Shelby really nailed it on this one. Not really enough bang for the buck - but I still like it. The main problem is that dealerships won't let me order one on A-plan.

2009 Bullitt - I guess this could be a viable option... Should be able to get A-plan on one with rebates. Ehh... maybe...

What I've really been waiting for is to see if Ford is coming out with a special edition 45th Anniversary GT. IMO, Ford has nailed each of the past two anniversary GT's (i.e. 35th and 40th) and I was anxious to see what they were coming out with for the 45th. The dealership I stopped at wasn't much help.

Does anybody have any info on a potential 45th GT? :)

not the best pic, but isn't that it ?

you like the S-GT? Just get a california special and put the grille on it and be done with it. The stripes look gay anyway and i would remove them if i would have got a S-GT in the first place.

I actually like the stripes :nice: and pretty much the whole Shelby package. A little over a year ago there was a dealership in Georgia that had a white '07 Shelby with cloth interior for MSRP at $35.6K If he would have A-planned it - I would have bought it. He wouldn't, so I ended up buying a 79 T/A instead - I'm not sure if that was good or bad :)

I guess the GT/CS could be another similar option to the Bullitt... they're both nice cars.. I dunno... just not too excited.. My lack of funds may prevent me from becoming too terribly excited about new cars :)

The cool thing about the anniversary cars is they're usually not too highly priced.

Actually since the first Mustang was called a 1965, we could argue that the 2010 model will be the 45th anniversary model. The first Mustang came out in April of 1964 but Ford sold it as a 1965. Early production models are often referred to as 1964 1/2 but all were licensed as 1965 models. So, when is the 45th anniversary??????

There is no 45th anniversary package for any of the 2009 Mustangs. Just a fender emblem that most '09's got. Only 5 more years until an awesome 50th anniversary to celebrate, assuming Ford decides to celebrate then with a special package.

That's a bummer:( I really liked how they did the 40th SE's with crimson, tan stripes, and spoiler delete. I was really hoping they would do something cool on the '05 body style.
