i am planning on doing a 4cyl to 5.0 conversion and am trying to figure out about how much i am looking at spending.
i have a full donor car and will be doing a maf conversion as well as throwing a cam in it.
Thats good.. i think you'd be able to swap the Computer/engine/headlight harnesses only. The rest of the harnesses can stay in the car, and you can just plug into it.
As far as Money for little things, if you have a complete donor, and don't break anything while swapping over, you shouldn't incur much cost. I'd say if your doing the full swap, you may have costs when replacing problem parts before install.. Example, if you're installing the braking system, might as well put new pads/rotors on. Same goes with things on the engine. I replaced the water pump, new thermostat, new valve and intake gaskets, that sort of thing. If its a 5 speed i'd replace the clutch. Its just insurance IMO
This was 6 years ago but mine ended up around $1500 for the swap which included the donor car and other parts. I used an 89 GT as the donor for my 93 coupe.
well i figured im going to have to just end up getting a mass air harness anyways.im going to be throwing a cam in while the engine is out,so i guess i need to do the conversion.
and im swapping my original 5.0 no option coupe into another coupe haha.
the strut towers are rusted beyond words.but besides that its in pretty decent shape.
