IMHO, I don't think the 3650 will hold up as well at the 4R70W. I had a 4R70W in my '98 v6. When I sold it, the car had 107k on it and I had not one problem with the tranny. I had 3.73's in it too from about 25k on. I beat the living piss out of it on a daily basis, at the track, and I even did neutral drops too (when I was young and dumb). To the day I sold it, it not once slipped, misshifted, or anything. I really doubt my 3650 will hold up to that much abuse.

lol... never thought id see a mustang group arguing that auto's are better. even if it is.. automatics are still boring, unless your talking built auto running 10's, cause i know somebody would say that.. but the stocker, i drove my friends and man its not even a mustang its so boring

theres more user error in a manual trans then there is in a auto, if a manual was properly cared for and professionally driven

in a street car
manual>auto

but depending on what your needs are an auto may fit your needs. for drag racing an auto would be better for matching et's

The only time I miss my auto is at the track. But as soon as I hit the streets, I totally forget about that.

the auto takes out driver errors. It doesn't allow you to mess up. You cant miss a shift with an auto. With a 5 speed if you miss a shift well you have problems. Check out dyno numbers between the 2 and you will see your ?> arrow turn to a <. So to sum it up the greather then sign comes down to driver. On a bolt on 2v car with no power adders a t45 or 3650> auto. Of course with the right driver. I have the same power as a couple of guys and mods and i've gone a tenth faster(i'm 100lbs heavier)..with a broken tooth and messed up sincro...auto had 4200 stall & valve body). Ouch that sucks 5speed all the way

you auto haters just dont know how to make the auto play. If the stang was your only toy then yes it better be a stick but if you have a superbike then why bother shifting gears. Although i wont lie i still drop it into neutral at every light, put it in 1st and then shift to second and d. But thats just to hear the exhaust.
