Hey again everyone. Since my plans to get the '94 GT with the 347 Stroker may not quite work (much to my frustration), I'm rethinking my options (for the millionth time, I know). I'm just trying to figure out which of the following two plans would be better.
Plan 1:
Keep my car, do a P&P PI headswap, get CompCams XE camshafts, Fox Lake solid lash adjusters, long tube headers, and either a Bullitt or Fox Lake P51 intake. Then eventually, get a VT Engines Billet 302 Stroker shortblock and transfer the heads/intake/everything onto it.

OR

Plan 2:
Keep my car, sell the stock 2V (still in great shape), buy a 99-02 Cobra engine, swap it in, then eventually get the heads ported and polished (Fox Lake, see a pattern here? :D ), get a PHP P&P intake, sell the stock one, get CompCams camshafts, Fox Lake solid lash adjusters, and then some long tubes.

Which would you do? It seems that Plan 1 might be easier financially at first, but I'm not sure if it has enough potential. Please write with any relevant opinions. Thanks as always. Peace. Beware of eBay.

When the engine goes in the wifes car a cobra or mach engine will be in there to replace it. I would go that route. They are so cheap these days, you get a forged crank at least. You can always put in a forged pistons and rods later. You will have the advantage of the 4 valve heads. Plus the cobra engines just look better. :D .

Why not just get a new 2003 cobra engine? You would have the benefit of a supercharger right away and that block is so strong you can really max it out. They go for around $12,000 or so.

I can't do this because I can't afford it. I can afford to drop $3000-$4000 on an engine and then gradually build up from there. Plus, I really want to stay N/A. Thanks.

how much would a new 4v go for?
On ebay they run from $2000 on up for the 99+ cobras. Onesat karkraft.com run from $2600 and up. You can also find them at stangparts.com fairly cheap. the 2003 cobra engines have been going for around $7000 on ebay and there have been some at stangparts for that price.

How so? Personally, I think that a 2V with a Bullitt intake is just beautiful.

Nice big valve covers remind me of the old hemis. The top of the engine is generally a bit Cleaner.

I just think this looks much better than

Why would you say it doesn't have enough potential? T&J Performance built Micool's 663 rwhp (soon to be more) 2v and they built a 310 rwhp N/A 2v with the stock intake also VT engine made some awesome power with there 324 stroker

If it were me and I was staying N/A then I would build a higher compression 324 stroker w/ T&J N/A heads

Just call Tim at T&J Performance

i am going with route 1. i am getting the heads p/p right now. when my engine gets to the point it needs the bottom end rebuilt, then i'll get a bored stroker shortblock and transfer the heads to it.

i looked into going the "buy a worn 94/95 gt and dropping in a new engine" route, but it is hard to find a 94/95 5.0 vert with decent paint for $4000 or less.
